FBI Dallas Announces Major Arrests and Seizures Under Operation Summer Heat

Introduction

Dallas, TX – October 4, 2025 — FBI Dallas has revealed significant results from Operation Summer Heat, a sweeping three-month initiative led by the FBI to combat violent crime across the United States. Running from June 24 through September 20, the operation resulted in thousands of arrests nationwide and substantial seizures of narcotics and firearms. In North Texas, agents apprehended high-profile fugitives, disrupted violent criminal activity, and removed dangerous drugs from circulation.

High-Profile Arrests in North Texas

Among the most notable successes for FBI Dallas was the capture of Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Cindy Rodriguez Singh and Cesar Pascual Orozco. Singh, wanted for child sex crimes and violent offenses, was located and returned from India, while Orozco, implicated in murder and the robbery of an armored vehicle, was apprehended in Mexico and brought back to the U.S.

In addition to these headline cases, FBI Dallas reported arrests tied to a range of serious offenses, including:

  • Production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material
  • Drug trafficking and distribution networks
  • Violent robberies and assaults
  • Felons in possession of firearms

Agents seized 7 kilograms of fentanyl—a synthetic opioid linked to record overdose deaths in recent years—and 29 firearms connected to violent crimes.

FBI Statement and Local Commitment

Special Agent in Charge R. Joseph Rothrock emphasized the importance of partnerships in achieving these results:

“Under Operation Summer Heat, FBI Dallas collaborated with our law enforcement partners to apprehend fugitives, seize drugs and firearms, and arrest child predators. We remain committed to protecting our North Texas communities from violent crime.”

Rothrock added that the operation demonstrates the FBI’s ability to surge resources and coordinate across jurisdictions, ensuring dangerous fugitives cannot evade justice by crossing state or national borders.

National Scope of Operation Summer Heat

Operation Summer Heat was not limited to Texas. The effort mobilized all 55 FBI field offices, bringing together federal agents, intelligence analysts, and state and local law enforcement. Across the country, the operation yielded:

  • 8,629 total arrests, with over 6,500 linked to violent crime and gang activity
  • 1,053 child victims identified or recovered, highlighting the focus on protecting vulnerable populations
  • 44,569 kilograms of cocaine and 421 kilograms of fentanyl seized
  • 2,281 firearms taken off the streets

Officials say the coordinated offensive not only targeted violent gang members and fugitives but also focused on dismantling trafficking networks responsible for fueling violent crime in local communities.

Protecting Communities and Children

A central element of the operation involved addressing crimes against children. Nationwide, specialized FBI units worked to track online predators, rescue exploited children, and bring offenders into custody. Officials noted that the identification of over 1,000 children during the operation underscores both the scale of the threat and the urgent need for continued vigilance.

In North Texas, arrests tied to child sexual abuse material reflect the region’s role in larger national investigations into online exploitation networks. Authorities stressed that each arrest represents not only the capture of an offender but also the protection of potential future victims.

Community and Local Reactions

Community leaders in Dallas welcomed the results, noting the removal of violent offenders provides relief to neighborhoods struggling with the impact of crime. Advocacy groups also praised the operation’s focus on crimes against children but called for continued investment in prevention and rehabilitation efforts, not just enforcement.

Families of overdose victims also responded to the seizure of fentanyl. North Texas, like much of the country, has faced rising fentanyl-related deaths. Community organizations highlighted that removing 7 kilograms of the drug from circulation could prevent thousands of potential overdoses.
