Two years after the tragic killing of 26-year-old India Kinamore and her unborn child inside her Ohio home, police say they have finally brought charges against three men believed to be responsible. The arrests mark a breakthrough in a case that has haunted Kinamore’s family and shocked the Colerain Township community since 2023.
A Case That Shook a Community
On March 4, 2023, officers responded to a home in Colerain Township after reports of gunfire around 4:30 a.m. There, they discovered Kinamore with multiple gunshot wounds. She was in the late stages of pregnancy and had been scheduled for labor induction that very day. Both she and her unborn child died at the scene, leaving behind her grieving family and a young son who was inside the home at the time of the shooting.
Building a Case Over Two Years
Authorities say the investigation took nearly two years of painstaking work. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney David Hickenlooper told the court that extensive cell phone records and location data linked three men, 20-year-old Robert Ervin, 30-year-old Kayvon Warren, and 22-year-old Lamar Morris Suggs, to the crime. According to prosecutors, messages exchanged between the men suggested they were “coming up with a plan” to kill Kinamore. Surveillance footage also reportedly placed them at or near the crime scene.
Relationship Ties and Motive Allegations
Prosecutors allege that Warren was in a relationship with Kinamore and wanted her to end the pregnancy. Hickenlooper told the court that this conflict may have been the motive behind the killing. However, Warren’s attorney disputed the claim, arguing that his client had been cooperative with police, had not fled the area, and “wanted the child.” Ervin’s defense, meanwhile, argued that he had “no ties” to Kinamore and was being made “guilty by association.” But prosecutors countered with evidence that his phone records and vehicle placed him directly near the home the night of the murder.
Defendants Face Court
All three men have now been charged with two counts of murder, one for Kinamore and one for her unborn child. Warren and Ervin each had their bond set at $300,000 per charge and remain in custody at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Suggs, already serving time for an unrelated weapons charge, now faces the murder indictment as well.
A Mother’s Plea for Justice
In court, Kinamore’s mother, Terri, delivered an emotional statement urging the judge to keep the accused men behind bars. She revealed that her daughter’s six-year-old son had called her on the morning of the shooting, telling her what had happened. “They were in a relationship,” she said of Warren and her daughter. “He killed his own son or plotted to kill his own son.”
Justice Long Awaited
For the Kinamore family, the arrests mark a step toward justice, though the pain of their loss remains. What began as a shocking act of violence inside a quiet Ohio neighborhood has now turned into a lengthy legal battle, one that prosecutors say will be built on digital evidence, surveillance footage, and testimony. As the case moves forward, Kinamore’s loved ones say they are determined to see justice served for both her and her unborn child.
